Curley Family Weekly Bulletin

Week of March 25-31, 2024

See below to find out what is happening at Curley!

From the President

We enter into Christianity’s most important week, Holy Week and Easter.  From the gift of the Eucharist we celebrate on Holy Thursday, to the mystery of Christ’s betrayal, suffering and death on Good Friday, and then His triumph over death on Easter morning, we have so much to contemplate, and so many reasons to give thanks.  It is in the crucible of these days that the understanding of life and death was changed, leading to the realization that Christians should always be people of joy and hope.  This attitude toward life is possible because of what Jesus did, and because of what each of us is promised.  May you and your family experience peace and happiness as you celebrate Easter.

-- Fr. Donald '70

From the Principal

As we enter Holy Week, I pray that this is a spiritually fulfilling time for you and your family. Please know that you will be in my prayers during this time. I also pray that the Easter Break is rejuvenating for our students, faculty and staff. Once we return to school, we will have just two months before the end of the school year.

As the quarter ended on March 22, we are now entering the fourth quarter of the school year. We will continue to remind all of our students to finish the year well by being attentive to their classwork, homework, and assessments.

It is also important to note that on April 8, sport coats are no longer required as we move into the spring dress code.

From the Assistant Principal of Academics

I hope each of you has a blessed Holy Week. This is a very busy time of year as we officially kick off spring and the beginning of the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter brings lots of excitement and anticipation for the end of the year. Please continue to remind your son(s) to check Plus Portals on a regular basis and to see their teacher(s) if they have questions. I also encourage them to see their teachers for extra support and help if they are struggling in any of their courses. The 4th quarter is very short for our seniors making this even more important. My door is always open if they ever need anything.

From the Campus Minister

On Tuesday, several members of the Senior Class will be leading our community in the Living Stations of the Cross. We encourage all of our students to be fully engaged in this special and powerful tradition at Curley. It is a great way to reflect during Holy Week.

Class of 2025 Parents

  • Mrs. Berrigan is hosting a College Essay Workshop on June 10, July 24 and August 6. If your student is planning on applying to a four year college/university, he will be required to include an essay with his application. This is the opportunity to brainstorm, draft, and complete an essay in one day. This is an all day event that is offered on three different dates -- you only need to register for one. The cost is $150. This is feedback from students who took it last year: "The workshop was just the right amount of time to brainstorm and build a solid essay. Mrs. Berrigan's feedback was very helpful and clear in explaining what could be improved. I got plenty of useful personal feedback throughout my time there." "This was an amazing 1-day camp that saved me days of brainstorming, drafting, and revising. The professional help was very useful! I also loved the help with the Common App." Go HERE to register!
