Painting the Bard’s Birds

Missy Dunaway (DC 2010) explores the intersection of Shakespeare and art. Dunaway is the artist behind “The Birds of Shakespeare,” a collection of paintings cataloging every bird mentioned in Shakespeare's plays and poems.

Edward Kennedy will receive the Mortimer Spiegelman Award for his outstanding contributions to public health and statistics.

Upcoming Events

  • Deeper Conversations: During the 2024-2025 academic year, the university will explore critical topics related to democracy and the U.S. election. Dietrich College and the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy have led the planning efforts for this university-wide initiative. On Oct. 1, the series will present a virtual discussion on Immigration at the Ballot Box. On Oct. 28, the series will feature a lecutre, “Cyber-Enabled Nation-State Influence Operations: Are Russia, China and Iran Interfering in the U.S. Election” in Simmons A, Tepper Building at 5:00 p.m. Learn more and register for the events.


  • Grace Hopper Celebration: The Philadelphia Network welcomes you to the City of Brotherly Love for a CMU alumni meet-up over drinks and appetizers on Oct. 8 at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Register for the event.


  • Join the inaugural CMU Technology and Entrepreneurship happy hour: This opportunity brings together CMU alumni, students and friends interested in technology and entrepreneurship to connect, network and share ideas.
