Happy August, JU CMHC Alumni, Site Supervisors, Employers and Friends!


Greetings from the faculty of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) department. We are pleased to present you with the premier issue of CMHC Quarterly, where we will you keep updated on all things JU CMHC. In this issue, we would like to share recent leadership changes in our department, program developments, and solicit your feedback with our annual survey. Leadership Transition

Dr. Natalie Indelicato, Professor

Celebrate with us! Dr. Indelicato was recently promoted to full professor. She transitioned from department chair to professorship, and is looking forward to Academic Sabbatical in Spring 2025, during which time she will complete a research project and professional certification related to women's mid-life health. We are grateful for our growth under Dr. Indelicato's tireless leadership.

Dr. LaTonya Summers, Department Chair

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Summers succeeds Dr. Indelicato as department chair. Dr. Summers has been a JU CMHC faculty member for 6 years and has nearly 30 years of mental health and addictions counseling experience.

Dr. Ne'Shaun Borden, Program Director

Help us celebrate Dr. Borden's promotion from Clinical Director, Palm Coast to Program Director. Dr. Borden has been a JU CMHC faculty member for 3 years.

Dr. Seneka Gainer, Clinical Director,

Palm Coast

Cheers to Dr. Gainer who was selected to serve as Clinical Director, Palm Coast. Dr. Gainer has been a JU CMHC faculty member for 2 years.

In Other News...

  • Congratulations Class of 2024! JU CMHC graduated 41 students from its Arlington and Palm Coast locations. These students provided over 32,000 hours of mental health counseling to the NE Florida communities.
  • The Play Therapy Graduate Certificate Program graduated 13 students in its first cohort in 2024.
  • We are excited to welcome an incoming class of 51 students in Arlington and Palm Coast. Go 'Phins!
  • JU CMHC was awarded the 2024 Innovation in Counseling: Counselor Education Community Engagement Award from the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
  • The JU Center for Men's Mental Wellness turns one next month. There, CMHC students provide counseling services to uninsured men. Learn more.
  • We are pleased to announce that we have developed a diverse group of community stakeholders and alumni to form the CMHC Advisory Board.
