"Mama Otter Saves the Day" is a children's book filled with colorful pictures, a cute otter family, and an important lesson about taking care of the Earth. Students collect food donations for C.A.N.S. Around The Oval

The annual C.A.N.S. (Cash And Nutritious Staples) Around The Oval food drive generates awareness about hunger in our community as well as donations for the Food Bank for Larimer County. The drive lasts one month and ended Wednesday with a collection event at the Oval on the Colorado State University campus.

Last year, Poudre School District students and others donated nearly 18,000 pounds of food and raised more than $60,000 to fight hunger during C.A.N.S. Around The Oval. This year's totals will be posted on the PSD website when they become available. Learn more about the food drive here.>>

Supporting students amidst tragedy

The effects of war are devastating and far-reaching. As a school system, PSD knows there are students, families, and staff struggling with the Israel-Hamas war and the emotional stories and images coming out of Israel and onto our phones and TV screens. Superintendent Brian Kingsley wants families to know there is mental health support for students in PSD who are directly or indirectly affected by all forms of trauma.
