Turf manufacturers were on site this week to begin their assessment of the pea gravel underneath and their feedback would suggest minimal damage has been caused to the ground directly underneath the turf field. The Farley Group, who will be the main contractor on this project to build the new dome, also began their assessment of the additional vehicle air lock to provide us with more storage space.
Remember, regular updates on our dome development can be viewed at this dedicated page: BUILD BACK BETTER
We were also happy to distribute cheques to each competitive team for the costs they incurred during the start of 2022 when we had to quickly pivot to external fields and court times. We all wish this could have been turned around sooner, but providing our insurance company with the appropriate level of detail and then waiting for a favorable decision can't always be rushed!
Now we focus on a busy Indoor season!
For Recreational players that will start the weekend after Thanksgiving, please check your Sports Engine app for an updated schedule.
For Competitive teams, tryouts are still ongoing for some teams but many have completed their rosters and have entered one of the three popular indoor leagues (PISL, GTISL or YRSL) that serve the GTA. This will be complimented with two gym sessions per week at nearby facilities (in Pickering, Ajax, or Whitby) to minimize travel for our busy families.
Our very popular PFC Club Raffle was drawn today so watch next weeks newsletter to find out if you were the lucky winner of an iPad, bike, or Nintendo Switch!
