The History Source Launches

For the new school year, the MHS is excited to introduce the History Source, a curated resource hub for educators of K–12 social studies, ELA, and civics. 
 
Learn more about this free, easy-to-use online platform at www.HistorySource.org. Let us know what you think of the site, which we will launch officially later this fall.
Underrepresented Communities Web Portal Now Available

The MHS has recently launched a web display that showcases MHS collections and resources that document individuals and communities who have previously been unrepresented in the historical record. The site provides access to thousands of pages of digitized content as well as relevant exhibitions, digital features, study materials, and more. Explore the site.

The MHS gratefully acknowledges generous support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, and the Packard Humanities Institute. 
Peter J. Gomes Memorial Book Prize Awarded

The MHS has awarded the 2022 Peter J. Gomes Memorial Book Prize to Robert A. Gross for his book The Transcendentalists and Their World, published in 2021 by Macmillan Publishers. The Peter J. Gomes Memorial Book Prize is given to the best nonfiction work on the history of Massachusetts published during the preceding year. An award ceremony will take place at the Concord Museum with Robert A. Gross in conversation with Dennis Fiori, MHS President Emeritus. Stay tuned for the date!
