Battle of Bunker Hill: A Song Composed by the British after the Engagement
This printed document contains the lyrics of a ballad published in England after the Battle of Bunker Hill. The lyrics describe General Howe, who commanded the assault on Bunker Hill, as “brave,” “considerate,” and “beloved by many,” one whose very name “the Yankees dread.”

Set Your Calendars for the June Release
On 15 June 2022, listen to episode 11 of The Object of History podcast, “Treasures Within: The Recovered Letters of Margaret Fuller.” In this episode, experts explore the life of Margaret Fuller, the extraordinary, 19th-century intellectual who played a central role in the transcendentalist movement. Learn about a recovered parcel of Fuller’s letters to her close friend, James Freeman Clark. The lost letters were discovered carefully preserved in an ornate folio in the home of Clark’s descendants after more than one hundred years.
