Welcome to our inaugural bi-weekly update for NCART members. When we asked members how to improve our communications, the resounding answer was to be timelier. The monthly newsletter will continue each month, but we wanted to provide you with more updates because legislation and regulation is moving quickly. Power Seat Elevation Update and Next Steps!

CMS released their final coding and payment decision for seat elevation:

• CMS has established one Complex Rehab (CRT) code- E2298.
• Fee schedule amount of $2,000.34.
• CMS delayed a decision on replacing standard power seat elevation codes K0830 and K0831- the DME MACs will calculate local fee schedule amounts to pay claims for covered items during this interim period until a

final decision is made.

• Effective date April 1, 2024

NCART is very disappointed with the final decision, and we have contacted CMS to meet and discuss this issue. The information we have gathered does not support the final payment level. We are also coordinating our efforts with the ITEM Coalition, which submitted the NCD request. The ITEM Coalition and NCART have concerns that at this payment level, some consumers may be denied access to this incredible product.

NCART IN ACTION

Wayne Grau, presented NCART and the importance of advocacy at the ISS virtual conference. NCART members and Wayne testified at the Connecticut Senate hearing about repairs and service reform. Wayne also attended a meeting with Chairman Lessor and Chairwoman Gilchrest about the bill and our language concerns. NCART did two interviews with Connecticut media to educate them about the complexity of the repair issue. NCART attended meetings with other stakeholders to discuss and plan for the next steps in our response to the final

CMS decision on Seat Elevation.
