Dear Member, Stakeholder, Supporter,
Week 1 of our Summer 2022 season has already got off to a flying start with both Senior Men and Women's in League1 Ontario action. Our Competitive Youth teams also played their first game in the inaugural season of Ontario Soccer's new iModel. With 2-3 weeks before the Recreational season kicks off across our city fields we encourage you to take a drive out and catch some of the competitive teams in action. These teams train a minimum of twice a week and compete with the best teams across Durham, the GTA and Ontario. Through the obstacles the club has faced the past 2 years our coaching staff have been ever-present, keeping team continuity and affording us the chance to come back better than ever. They would love to see your support at the field this season.
Speaking of fields.... Pickering FC staff were out at the official opening of the new Rick Johnson Memorial Park in New Seaton this past weekend. The ribbon was officially cut by City Council and members of Rick Johnson's family while over 300 home owners from the new neighbourhood watched and enjoyed activities at the park. PFC was on hand to give out free soccer balls, host mini games, and chat about our programs. For the New Seaton Community we will be offering drop-in programs twice a week (Tues & Thurs, 4-6pm), as well as hosting some of our grassroots games at the new field.
We are thankful to Tom Stewart and his team at Eznet. In our hour (or 3 months) of need with the dome collapse, we struggled to access safe usable goals for the kids. Tom stepped up and turned around a fresh supply of Eznets. Eznets are a 'homegrown' invention of Toms and a great goal for use at team practices and in back yards. Eznet is currently offering our coaches and parents a $100 rebate on the purchase of a 5 x 7 Eznet for $249.99 (plus tax). The rebate is split 50/50 with half coming back to the family and half to the club - it really is a win-win! Tom is a big believer in reinvesting in the game and delivering this rebate means it stays in the community and doesn't go to pay a high street retailer. Orders can be made through their website (click here) and fill in 'Pickering' at the check out.

Logan Learns to Play
Logan longs to play soccer when he sees his classmates playing out on the field. Kicking the ball with his walker seems like a daunting task as he has grown up with Cerebral Palsy. When he is introduced to an inclusive and accessible All Abilities program, he finds himself surrounded by a community of friends, family and fun.

Logan Learns to play can be purchased at the Pickering Soccer Centre or via Amazon Canada for $15.00. Shipping is extra.

To purchase from the Pickering Soccer Centre, please contact Tammy at 905-831-9803 x 207, or email her at allabilities@pickeringfc.ca.
