With more information than ever before, we know you’ll find the
answers to most of your questions on our website.
Dear Member, Stakeholder, Supporter,
Week 1 of our recreational season kicked off this week at fields across the City of Pickering including our popular hubs at Woodlands and Creekside. As we settle into the routine, there will be more frequent grass cutting by City staff and field lining by PFC staff each week - May is notorious for shared school use and unpredictable weather, and THEN we get into a settled routine. Club emails and the SportsNgin app provide just about everything you need to know before arriving at the field, and if you do have questions please feel free to ask at the information tents available at both Woodlands and Creekside. Thanks to Dave Lord and Hollie Babut for getting our teams coordinated and our coaches trained in order to provide our new wave of soccer stars with the best possible start.
On the competitive side we are already two or three games into the season with most teams and they are showing a lot of talent and grit, especially in the new iModel League where a strong start to the season is essential if you want to compete in the top tier of the league during the second half of the season. Congratulations to Coach Ollie Malone and his 2007 Boys team who tested their squad against OPDL teams at the Umbro Showcase and came away even better prepared for the iModel season.
The 2005/2006 OPDL Girls captured our clubs' first title of the season by winning their division of the Umbro Top Rated Showcase - a top competition for players to be seen by college scouts from the U.S. and Canada. Well done to Head Coach Peter Hogg and Assistant Coach Bayete Smith on their continued work to bring these players to the attention of recruiters.
Finally, we couldn't talk about the first week of action without sharing this great photo of our U9 Girls Tier 1 team. Well done to Coach Kyra Barton, who overruled the opposition coaches' decision to keep playing as an imminent thunder storm moved in. As you know, that storm did considerable damage across the region, but our girls were safely back in their cars thanks to Kyra's strong leadership.

Thank you Jumpstart!!!
We are pleased to share that the PFC All Abilities program has been selected by @CTJumpstart to receive a Summer Community Development Grant. These funds help community sport organizations like ours continue to provide access to sport and play for Canadian kids.

Jumpstarts generosity allows us to continue to provide quality programming to our amazing athletes. Click the image below to see the impact that their support has had on our athletes, families, volunteers, staff and club.
Logan Learns to Play
Logan longs to play soccer when he sees his classmates playing out on the field. Kicking the ball with his walker seems like a daunting task as he has grown up with Cerebral Palsy. When he is introduced to an inclusive and accessible All Abilities program, he finds himself surrounded by a community of friends, family and fun.

Logan Learns to play can be purchased at the Pickering Soccer Centre or via Amazon Canada for $15.00. Shipping is extra.

To purchase from the Pickering Soccer Centre, please contact Tammy at 905-831-9803 x 207, or email her at allabilities@pickeringfc.ca.
