After a festive graduation ceremony last weekend, we look forward to greeting returning alumni/ae and their families this weekend. The Museum’s staff will be leading tours throughout the Reunions weekend. Later in the month, on Saturday, June 24, the Museum will open its major summer/fall exhibition, People Watching: Contemporary Photography since 1965. Drawn almost exclusively from the Permanent Collection and featuring more than 120 photographs by more than sixty artists from around the world, the exhibition explores photography’s role in mediating our relationship to and understanding of the diverse populations in our midst. That afternoon photographers Laura McPhee and Michael Kolster will present the exhibition’s opening program in Kresge Auditorium. Also, a hearty congratulations to our colleagues at the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum for the successful opening of their new museum building and exhibitions. Be sure to check it out!
We look forward to seeing you at the Museum of Art!
