Dear members of the CVA community,
This past February Kate Webber Punderson ’89, Head of School, shared with the community that she would be concluding her leadership of CVA in June 2024. Subsequent to the announcement, the Board of Trustees determined next steps and embarked on the process of identifying the next Head of School for CVA. The Board recently convened a Search Committee for this important endeavor.
The Head of School Search Committee includes current and former trustees and parents, as well as alumni, who possess a broad range of experiences, talents, and perspectives; an understanding of the Academy’s history and approach; and an unwavering dedication to CVA and its mission. The Committee is being led by co-chairs Kevin Burns P ’04 and Peter C. Smith ’08, and the full list of members is included below:

The Board and the Search Committee are committed to conducting a transparent and inclusive process that will engage the broader CVA community. A comprehensive Head of School search typically takes six to nine months and will likely culminate in an announcement of CVA’s next Head of School by late fall. Under Kate’s extraordinary leadership, CVA is in a position of exceptional strength and is well-poised for attracting its next Head of School and for continued progress through the transition.
