Looking Ahead: Long Spring Weekend (April 14-17)

April will be here before we know it! Students may depart campus for this long weekend after their last commitment on Friday, April 14.

All boarding students must have a parent/guardian submit an absence request with their student's dates and times of departure and return via Veracross. The College Corner

Many high school students will spend a portion of their spring break visiting college campuses. And while visiting is one effective way to get to know colleges, it's not the only one. Below are some ways for students to learn more about colleges without ever having to leave the house.

  • Look for virtual information sessions and tours. These can usually be found under the admissions section of the website.
  • Read college admissions blogs.
  • Look at colleges' websites. The "About the College" section is always a good place to start, as is the "Academics" section.
  • Read campus publications. To learn more about life on campus, visit the websites for the school's newspaper.
  • Check out the college’s social media sites. Instagram, Twitter, and other sites can offer interesting insights into campus life, events, and/or admissions resources.
