Final Opportunity: Youth Commission Applications Due Monday

Los Altos residents in grades 9-12 are invited to apply to serve on the Youth Commission, which advises the City Council on matters relating to youth and teen issues. Applications are due Monday, May 20, at 5 PM. Interviews will take place on Thursday, May 23, at 4 PM.

Emergency Operations Center Construction Starting Soon

Construction of the Emergency Operations Center begins the week of June 3. This work—installing a new generator and acoustical enclosure and adding electrical and communication infrastructure to the Los Altos Community Center—will minimally impact the Civic Center. Anticipated completion is winter 2025.

Annual Historical Essay Contest Award Recipients Recognized

The City and Los Altos History Museum honored this year's Margaret Thompson Historical Essay Contest award recipients during an ice cream social and the City Council meeting. Essays from these young historians can be found on the History Museum's website.

You're Invited: Next Family Fun Day Happening in June

Families of all ages are invited to the next Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 8, from 10 AM-1 PM, at the Los Altos Community Center. This event will feature dinosaur-themed games, crafts, movies, and read alouds. Family Fun Days is a free event; no registration is required.
