Jones to speak at Mental Health Services Research Conference
Assistant Professor Nev Jones will speak at the 25th NIMH Conference on Mental Health Services Research (MHSR) plenary session called Forecasting the Future of Mental Health Services Research on August 2 from 11:30am-12:30pm ET. Race and Social Problems journal has big impact
Springer has announced that Race and Social Problems, the Springer journal that is housed in the Center on Race and Social Problems (Editor-in-Chief Gary Koeske) has received an increase in its impact score to 2.88 placing it in the top quartile of journals in its category of Anthropology and Sociology. Welcome to Kerri Meeks-Griffin the new Director of Recruitment and Admissions! Kerri has worked in Admissions for 17 years and came to Pitt School of Social Work for "the amazing faculty and top ranking." Kerri is an alumna of our program and says that has helped her in her admissions work because "learning about human development and behavior, how people work within systems, active listening, and a commitment to DEI are all paramount to the work for helping people pursue higher education." MSW student to present at conference
Hartford Partnership Program for Aging Education student Grace Vincent (pictured left) will be presenting with two Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh staff members at the “Intergenerational Approaches for Living, Learning, and Growing in Pennsylvania” conference July 6th in State College. Her proposed session is “Community-Led Intergenerational Programming: A Workshop with Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh.” Read more about the conference.
