The study of Greek and Latin and of ancient Mediterranean history has been a part of the academic curriculum since the beginning of Bowdoin College. On March 31st, the Museum of Art opens Antiquity & America: The Ancient Mediterranean in the United States, a new exhibition that explores the history of collecting and studying the ancient Mediterranean world at Bowdoin and beyond. Join us that evening for a tour with exhibition curator Sean Burrus. Other featured programs in April include a roundtable conversation with photographers Jona Frank, Elinor Carucci, and Michael Kolster on April 7th; a tour of a new installation of pastels drawings from the Museum’s Permanent Collection on April 8th; and a lecture about antiquities trafficking by New York prosecutor Matthew Bogdanos P'25 on April 11th. As always, more information about these and other events can be found on the Museum’s website.

We look forward to seeing you in the galleries!
