Microchip your pet

Microchipping is a simple, safe and effective way to help ensure your furry family members always find their way home. During the warmer weather, dogs are much more prone to wandering off and cats are quick to sneak out of an opened patio door. Animal shelters, Animal Service Officers and veterinary hospitals carry microchip scanners to identify lost pets and reunite them with their families quickly.

Not only is it essential to have your pet microchipped, but it is also your responsibility to follow up with the microchip company to ensure your pet is registered correctly in the ownership information. Remember that if your personal contact information changes, you must update the microchip company too.

All pets adopted from the Georgina Animal Shelter are microchipped and already registered to their new family.
