As we close the book on 2022 we want to THANK YOU for an incredible year. The highs have been exceptional with strong on-field performances at all ages and a growing talent pool of players that give us a lot to be excited about for the future. The PFC Coaches across all of our programs (All Abilities, Recreational, Competitive and High Performance) have challenged themselves, jumped in where necessary, and continued to build a new PFC culture firmly putting the player first. Thank you to Tammy, Dave Lord, Hollie, and Dave Benning for their leadership. We want to share with you that outside of the on-field training and games which parents see, there are hundreds of emails and texts flying back and forth to ensure everything is prepared before hand, and just as importantly, the collaboration afterwards between coaches sharing their game experiences really proves that they CARE and they are PASSIONATE.
The administration of our programs is a constantly moving target and to that end we want to acknowledge the efforts of Nina, Vicky, Brendan, and Maite. We say it often but PFC is a National Youth Licensed club accredited by Canada Soccer. With that prestige also comes a lot of obligation with regard to correct player registration, league entry, screening of team staff, the volunteer board and governance. We are not a Club that believes in shortcuts and we respect the authority of governing bodies. We will always land on the side of doing the RIGHT THING.
Our facility staff have had an interesting year to say the least. All we can say is that 2023 looks a lot better already! The new revolving door unit and accessible entrance have been installed and look excellent. Contractors will be on site over the holiday season to continue preparation for meeting the March reopening deadline. Thank you to Joe, Lisa, Chris, Sheldon, Thomas and Clayton for all their efforts this year, whether it was the thankless task of shifting snow and ice, or the constant adjustment of field and gym schedules, we know that the New Year will be very busy. We know our members and facility users alike will have high expectations for a new, high quality experience at the Centre and we intend on delivering.
Finally, to our PFC Board who steered us through this year, occasionally on a skeleton crew, we would like to thank you for sharing your experience, passion and time with us. As volunteers with the single focus of making PFC the best it can be you have delivered in spades and we thank you for that.
PFC President Ed Whitehead would also like to share;
'The last three years have been difficult to navigate. COVID and Mother Nature have taken a toll on our operations. As 2022 comes to a close we see life being restored to our dome. I am looking forward to the next couple of weeks as the dome rises from the ice and snow and our operations return to somewhat normal.
I would personally like to thank our members, staff, coaches, board and volunteers for their tireless efforts and commitment to the PFC getting us through these difficult and trying times.
Enjoy the holiday season and all the best to you and yours for the coming New Year.
Best Regards, Ed'
