Parenting Workshops

Parenting Workshops dates have changed!

The Wisconsin Extension will offer the following workshops for parents and caregivers this fall.


All workshops are FREE. Registration is required.

  • Parenting with Intention - Thurs. March 3 9:00-10:00 AM
  • Understanding Temperament - Wed., March 8, 6:00-7:00 PM (the Feb.15 workshop is canceled)
  • Gaining Cooperation - Tues. April 18, 6:00-7:00 PM (the Jan. 24 workshop is canceled)
  • Positive Solutions for Families (Ages 0-6) - a new series will begin in late February.

Rent Smart Virtual Workshops


The Rent Smart 2023 workshop series helps tenants understand their rights and responsibilities such as finding a rental, pre-rental inspection, who is responsible for repairs, eviction, effective landlord/tenant communication, and more. The free workshops are held via Zoom and run monthly.


February:

Encouraging Financial Conversations

Registration is Required

(Through the Extension Racine County)

Encouraging Financial Conversations is a program designed for case managers, social workers, and other frontline staff to help empower clients to achieve their financial goals and manage their money.


Participants will learn techniques and strategies to help their clients create a financial goals action plan, build and maintain good credit, pay off debts, develop a spending and savings plan, and protect themselves from fraud and identity theft. Participants will also learn coaching strategies that capitalize on a client’s strengths and resources in coming up with solutions. 


This program is open to helping professionals in Racine, Kenosha, Milwaukee, and Walworth Counties.


The 6-session program will meet online via Zoom. 


Workshops will be held on Wednesdays, January 18 - February 22 from 9:00-10:00 AM. The workshops are free and registration is required

The Child Support & Family Court FAQ is scheduled for Friday, March 3, 2023, 8:00 am -11:30 am at Gateway Technical College, Racine Campus. Racine County’s annual Child Support and Family Court FAQ is an opportunity for professionals who work with families to hear updates and ask for clarification about child support and family court processes and requirements.

LIFT Wisconsin

Driver's License Restoration Clinic

LIFT Wisconsin will be hosting its first Driver’s License Restoration Clinic in the City of Racine.


WHERE: Racine Public Library (75 7th St. Racine, WI 53403).


WHEN: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

  • January 25 (Wednesday)
  • February 21 (Tuesday)
  • March 09 (Tuesday)
  • April 18 (Tuesday)
  • May 16 (Tuesday)
  • June 20 (Tuesday)

The goal of these clinics is to help people interpret the results of their DOT records, provide clients with detailed action plans, and follow up with clients to ensure their driver's license obstacles are resolved. Attorneys from Legal Action of Wisconsin and LIFT WI will also be available to provide advanced help. These clinics are free!
