October 2022

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone.

-- Ephesians 2:19-20

Dear fellow alumni,

This photo shows 10,000 people who gathered on our beautiful campus to pray over and celebrate the installation of our cornerstone. Now in our 60th academic year, we are still here, forever relying on Christ Jesus Himself as our Chief Cornerstone! Just think of all of our faculty, staff, alumni, donors, parents, regents, districts (and a merger!) who have served and supported us to successfully reach this milestone. We give thanks for these immeasurable blessings, and by God’s grace, we confidently look forward to the years to come.

Our communications team does a great job writing feature stories and blog posts to keep everyone interested and informed. In honor of CUAA's 60th academic year, we challenge you to take this fun quiz and see if you can correctly guess if CUAA is older or younger than some of these other U.S. institutions, inventions, or cultural moments.

I scored 11/12, but I bet some of you can beat me! If you get all 12 answers correct, send me an email and I’ll enter your name into a drawing for a giveaway!

I hope to see you on campus for our Pipe Organ Rededication Festival Sunday, October 23, and for Alumni Homecoming on Saturday, October 29!

Walking together with you in faith,

Linda (Schramke) Sproul ‘92
Director of Donor and Alumni Relations

Meet lifelong Lutheran educator and alum Travis Grulke

Travis Grulke (‘01) is using his passion for Lutheran Education to inspire the next generation of educators. As the son of a Lutheran teacher, Grulke spent most of his childhood attending various Michigan Lutheran schools. During his time as a student at CUAA, in addition to his studies, Grulke spent a lot of time with his brothers in Christ in Hannah Residence Hall.  Residence life was ultimately his favorite part of his time at Concordia, which many students and alumni agree with to this day.
