GSAR celebrates the 56 members and staff who completed the At Home With Diversity course
The At Home With Diversity NAR certification course is designed to enable REALTORS® to work successfully with and within a rapidly changing multicultural market. It helps attendees learn about diversity sensitivity, how it applies to U.S. fair housing laws in your business, and ways to develop professional guidelines for working with people in the increasingly multicultural real estate market. GSAR congratulates the 50 members and six staff who took the course for their commitment to diversity education.. Most of the members took the course for free after completing NAR's Fair Haven Simulation course. The cost was covered by GSAR and CYNIS as part of its effort to promote fair housing and cultural diversity. Click here for a list of course attendees.
NAR: Buyers motivated to be closer to family and friends, sellers get full asking price
Among repeat home buyers and home sellers over the last year, a key factor for moving was the desire to live closer to family and friends, while an equally important motivator was the need for more space or a bigger home. Sellers as a whole were able to benefit in these transactions, typically earning their full asking price, and selling in one week. These driving forces to move as well as further sales figures appear in the National Association of Realtors®' 2021 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers. "During the pandemic, buyers and sellers have been driven by the desire to be close to family and friends, as well as the need for a larger home," said Jessica Lautz, vice president of demographics and behavioral insights at NAR. NAR ethics training requirement must be met by Dec. 31; check the list
All members must meet the NAR Code of Ethics training requirement by Dec. 31, 2021. Members are encouraged to check GSAR's Ethics Deficiency List. If your name is on the list, you have not completed a mandatory NAR Code of Ethics course within the January 2019-December 2021 Ethics Cycle. If you have completed the course, then email your documentation to the GSAR Education Department. Please note: If you have sent in your certificate, please be patient as the staff processes it. The list will be frequently updated to reflect changes. If your name is not on the list, your certificate has been recorded and there is no need to call the office to confirm it.

You may also take the free NAR ethics course to meet the requirement. Ethics course completion certificates must be sent to the GSAR Education Department via email no later than midnight on Dec. 31, 2021 to avoid MLS service termination for being non-compliant with NAR’s COE requirement.
