With over 100 million participants in 190 countries, it's no wonder Plastic Free July has become a worldwide sensation! Take this time to educate yourself and others on the benefits of reducing single-use plastic waste at home, work, school, and even at your local café. From cleaner streets and oceans to beautiful communities, your participation brings us one step closer to the solution!

Some ways to go plastic-free this July are to bring your own reusable cups, straws, and eating utensils when going out to eat, bringing reusable shopping and produce bags to the grocery store, choosing sustainable alternatives to plastic cling wrap when storing leftovers, and avoiding pre-packaged foods and instead choosing bulk or loose foods. The best part of Plastic Free July? Taking part in this special month will help you to find great alternatives that can become new habits forever!

Nearly 3,000 reminders have been created for RRRASOC community members looking to attend an HHW Collection Event in the past month! By going on the Recycling Directory at RRRASOC.org and creating an event reminder, you can rest assured the next HHW Collection Event won't slip under your radar. You can receive reminders via email or on the RRRASOC mobile app. Reminders can be sent at a specific time the day before or the day of the event.

The next HHW Collection Event is on Saturday, July 15 at the Wixom Department of Public Works. For information on what is accepted and how to prepare for HHW Collection Events, visit our Event Schedule page or view our HHW Flyer.
