Our Outdoor 2023 Recreational season starts next week and we know there are a lot of eager players, coaches and parents keen to hit the turf once more. The Pickering Soccer Centre has been buzzing all week as we met our newest crop of recreational players and our more experienced players.

As a reminder, Pickering FC is the ONLY club in Durham Region that provides a training night as well as a game night for Recreational players. This means our children and youth get more opportunities to develop and fall in love with the game.

Special thanks to Dave Lord and his team of volunteers who assisted with uniform and ball collections all week long. Roz Lavoie our Club Secretary also joined in and helped, and on the side tried to recruit some future volunteers! If you want to know more please reach out to Roz at secretary@pickeringfc.ca.

On Wednesday, PFC Grassroots Director Hollie Babut, put on a fun and practical field session for new coaches to the Recreational program. Hollie's experience working with our younger players translated into positive messages about how we should nurture every child with the ultimate goal of fun and a life long love for the game.

"Our volunteer coaches take on one of the most important roles at the club - 'A players first coach'.  We can’t thank you enough." said Hollie.

Hollie followed up with a Junior Coach Workshop to a talented group of players on Thursday evening. These players are developing their coaching skills to work with our U3 and U4 programs this summer. This has proved a huge success recently and we look forward to another energetic season of young coaches and even younger players! The future is clearly bright at Pickering FC.

OUTDOOR 2023 REGISTRATION NOW LIVE!

Registration for the on line 2023 Ontario Soccer Match Official Clinics is now open. You will register directly with Ontario Soccer. This link will take you to the information page/registration link for the clinics.

It is important that you read the Student Guide prior to registering for a clinic and it will provide you with valuable information on the clinics, the process, and the practical sessions. If you have any questions, please reach out directly to Ontario Soccer at matchofficials@ontariosoccer.net as this will speed up getting the answers you need. Also consult the FAQ document that can be found on the webpage to assist you.

Entry Level – must be 14 years of age as of March 31, 2023 - $135 fee

Small Sided Game – must be 12 years of age as of March 31, 2023 - $110 fee

Remember to list the Pickering FC as your club when you register!
