Dear Member, Supporter, Stakeholder,

This week we'd like to highlight two important announcements from the Club.

The first is our Board approved COVID-19 Vaccination Policy that comes into place at 12:01am, Saturday October 2nd. This policy is designed to protect our young players who may not be vaccinated at this time. Many of you will be aware that the Region of York has just moved to requiring all visitors to sport facilities who are 12 and older, regardless of their role, to provide proof of vaccination. We are monitoring that situation closely to see if Durham Region Public Health follows suit, however the numbers in our region are considerably better right now. Our policy is enforced across our PFC programs and with external users to the facility. Please come prepared to show your vaccine certificate, photo ID and complete the contact tracing QR code on each visit.

PFC Facility Staff will be positioned in the lobby to check everyone in, subject to their vaccine requirements. PFC will not accept any abuse of staff or volunteers as we all try to navigate this difficult time. Please have patience and come prepared.

Our second announcement is the exciting news that Pickering FC has signed an agreement with Affiliated Sports Group (ASG) of Montreal to be our uniform and equipment supplier for the next two years.

This partnership came about after an extensive process that began in March that invited interested parties to submit applications based on our Request for Proposal. Shortlisted vendors made their presentations via conference call in May and then a further cut was made before the final two companies presented in-person to the selection committee in June.

PFC is excited by the blend of Under Armour products for our Competitive and High Performance athletes (Pickering FC was the first community sport club in Canada to use Under Armour back in 2009 and we're happy to be back with this high quality brand) and Campea, a great in-house brand that will serve our Recreational programs really well with a great array of colours and a style that will make our players look sharp on the pitch. Look out for some exciting marketing content online and in the facility very soon.

Pickering’s City Centre is undergoing a bold transformation and the City of Pickering invites residents, business, and stakeholders to share their thoughts on the proposed spaces and user experience.

Inspired by world-renowned public spaces, the project will see an exciting array of new, state-of-the-art municipal facilities, including a Performing Arts Centre, a combined Seniors & Youth Centre, and a relocated and expanded Central Library, surrounded by a vibrant and pedestrian-friendly public square.
From now until September, members of the public can register online and share their thoughts on the features, functionalities, and user experience of one or more of the proposed facilities.
