An Update from the Rector Search Committee
February 3, 2022

Dear fellow parishioners,

Since our last communication in November, the Diocese of Tennessee has been receiving nominations from St. George’s parishioners, clergy and lay leaders of our diocese, and clergy and lay people from other dioceses who believe they know of a suitable candidate to be our next rector. We are grateful for everyone who participated in this portion of our rector search process.

We have just begun our final stage of this search, which will involve an extensive process of discernment, interviews, visits, and finally a call to our new rector. This is also the most sensitive portion of the process, as it will involve actual candidates. While this stage will be relatively quiet compared to previous stages, rest assured that we will be working incredibly hard in the coming weeks.

We are as eager as you are to know who will be called as our next rector. As this process continues to unfold, each of us asks for your prayers for us, for our candidates, and for your continued patience. We trust that the Holy Spirit will work among and through us, and that God’s plan for our parish will be revealed—and it will be good.

Faithfully,
