Back to School: A College Math Teacher’s Perspective

Isn’t summer wonderful?! There is a carefree, unscheduled, vacation-filled freedom that refreshes and restores. But oh, how it flies by!
My oldest son is a senior at the University of Iowa. My daughter is back at the University of Kansas for her sophomore year, and my youngest son just began his senior year at Dowling Catholic High School.
I would like to hit the pause button!

Grandparenting in Today’s World – Review |

The grandparenting workshop was a huge success! We had about 30 people attend to find out how to be an intentional grandparent and to learn about new experiences to make lasting memories with their grandchildren.

We tried something new this year by organizing a small golf outing with a few of our planners. The results – a resounding success and a good time was had by all! Because of its success, watch next year for an expanded version of “Golf with a Planner Day!” |

Friends and employees of Syverson Strege attended last month’s luncheon with keynote speaker Brig Sorber, part of the founding family of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®/INTERNATIONAL, LLC. Faith at Work is a Des Moines-based Christian nonprofit helping business leaders strengthen their commitment to follow biblical principles in the workplace.

The FPA of Iowa Golf Outing is an event intended to provide financial professionals an opportunity to network and donate to the chosen charity of the FPA of Iowa.

You are invited to join us for the “Game for Good!”
Syverson Strege is honored to sponsor the “Game for Good!” Central Iowa players and celebrities will compete in a charity softball game at Principal Park to support Can Play Sports’ youth development, mentorship, health, and community building through athletics.
Celebrity athletes and coaches from local colleges and universities will lead two teams of 12 players that have a passion and commitment to support recreation-based development for underserved youth and adults in central Iowa. Former professional baseball player and former Syverson Strege employee, Adam Steen, will represent Syverson Strege by playing in the game.
Fans who attend the Game for Good will have the chance to meet their favorite celebrity athletes and coaches, enjoy some ballpark food and/or beer, participate in a silent auction and raffle, play in the kids' fun zone, win prizes in the on-field contests between innings, and watch an entertaining softball game. Admission is free and open to the public!
