Fall 2024 Avoid the Void

The Fall 2024 semester is a few weeks away! Be sure your student has registered for all the courses they need before they fill up. Check out the information below to help you and your student prepare.

Payment Deadline:

-Fall 2024 balance due August 14th.

-Students should pay in full or enroll in the USA Payment Plan to avoid the risk of being voided from their courses.

-Prior term balances must be paid by the deadline but cannot be included in the fall payment plan.

On-Campus Living and Meal Plans:

-Outstanding balances after the payment deadline may result in removal from the residence hall and/or meal plan suspension. 

Financial Aid and Other Payments:

-Students should ensure all requirements for federal aid, scholarships, VA benefits, or other third-party payments are completed.

-Students should check their student account regularly.

Fall 2024 Financial Readiness Checklist for Your Student

1.) Review student account balance in PAWS.

2.) Apply for financial aid through the FAFSA and complete all requirements to accept loans, if applicable.

3.) Fully accept all scholarship offers in JagSPOT, if applicable. Including thank you letters and donor questionnaires, if required.

4.) Apply for a private student loan, if applicable.

5.) Enroll in the USA Payment Plan, if applicable.

6.) Set up Electronic Direct Deposit in PAWS.

7.) Create FERPA and set up Authorized User access for parent/guardian, if applicable.

8.) Look into the tuition protection insurance offered through GradGuard.

9.) Bookmark the academic calendar.

10.) Plan to ensure balance is covered in full or enroll in the payment plan by the deadline.



11.) Plan to reach out to USA One Stop if questions come up.

JagPack

South’s JagPack textbook rental program gives undergraduate students access to all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes, and electronic book versions in a convenient bundle before or on the first day of class—in most cases, at discounted prices as compared to purchasing or renting items separately.

-$22 per credit hour

-The last day to opt-out is August 27th.

-Students must verify their order beginning one month before classes begin.

-Students must indicate if they would like to pick up their materials or have them shipped.

JagEats

Beginning fall 2024, all new undergraduate students enrolled in 6 or more on-campus credit hours, will automatically have $175 in JagEats funds added to their student account each fall and spring semester.

Just like the meal plan, JagEats funds are on the Jag ID Card and can be used at all USA Dining Services locations including campus food trucks at the Student Center.
