Florida Atlantic University will celebrate Black/African American History Month with a series of events throughout the month of February at its Boca Raton, Jupiter and Broward campuses. To view a list of events, click here.

The Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College of Florida Atlantic University is hosting the Florida Collegiate Honors Council 2020 Annual Conference February 7-9 in Jupiter, FL. This year’s conference theme is  SoFloMind: Reclaiming Hope and Change. Through collaboration and sharing of research, the conference is a way to reclaim that hope and envision pathways for meaningful change.

The 20th Anniversary Benefactors Dinner will feature Florida Atlantic University’s Distinguished Teacher of the Year Jeffrey S. Morton, Ph.D., as the keynote speaker.

United Way’s Emerging Leaders Society and Young Professionals of the Palm Beaches are hosting a Social for a Cause to benefit FAU on February 12 at 5:30 pm at the Malted Barley Brewery. Proceeds will support FAU’s OWLdopt a Room program providing dorm supplies to students aging out of the foster care system.

Florida Atlantic University’s Brain Institute, in partnership with the Stiles-Nicholson Foundation, is addressing the national shortage in STEM (science-technology-engineering and math) career-oriented students with ASCEND (Advancing STEM: Community Engagement through Neuroscience Discovery)- an innovative program targeting middle and high school students in Palm Beach County. FAU's Brain Institute is proud to announce “Brainy Days 2020,” a celebration of neuroscience throughout the month of March sponsored by Palm Heath Foundation. From understanding autism, addiction and Alzheimer’s disease to exploring how the brain processes violent behavior, researchers hope to engage, empower and educate the public on brain diseases, promote brain wellness and ultimately reduce the stigma associated with brain disorders.
