Our Annual Survey Results

Each year, we conduct member surveys on various topics to get meaningful information so we can provide better services, measure member satisfaction, and develop a better understanding of member needs.

Next Steps for Advocacy on a Provincial Police Service

After the Feb 17 session, we surveyed attendees about their thoughts on an independent provincial police service. Results indicate a high level of support for retaining the RCMP as Alberta’s provincial police service.

Coal Policy Engagement

The Alberta government launched the Coal Policy Engagement website to gather Albertans’ input on a long-term approach to coal development. Complete an online survey to help guide the discussion and kick-start the engagement. Survey ends April 19.

AESO Bulk and Regional Tariff Redesign

The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) has released its preferred rate design for the Bulk and Regional Tariff redesign. This tariff is how the AESO captures fifty per cent of the costs necessary to pay for investments to the electricity transmission system.

The Miistakis Institute is researching how roadside ditches and other marginal lands can be used as pollinator habitats in Alberta. The Institute is surveying municipalities for their feedback to understand better the breadth of the pollinator projects and programs occurring in the province. The survey will take around five minutes to complete.

WCB-Alberta is inviting employers to participate in an online Effective Disability Management Programs course being offered on April 14 and May 12. Whether you’re in the process of setting up a disability management program or want to refine an existing one, this course can help you by providing the foundational skills and knowledge required for a successful program.

Renew your recreation centre with energy efficiency!

Okotoks recently installed two REALice de-aerator systems and upgraded lighting in their recreation facilities. They can expect a reduction of 145 tCO2e emissions annually and save $14,000 in annual energy cost. The best part is, their payback is under two years. The Recreation Energy Conservation Program covered 75% of their costs.

Infrastructure Canada will be providing up to $1.5 billion in federal funding for community buildings that will support retrofits, repairs or upgrades of existing public buildings and the construction of new public buildings that serve communities across Canada. Municipalities are invited to provide ideas on potential priorities to Infrastructure Canada through the online program development questionnaire.
