On March 19, 1930, a group of 30 businessmen got together and submitted an application to the Canadian government to form The St. James Board of Trade for the purpose of promoting and improving trade and commerce and the economic, civic and social welfare of the said Rural Municipality of St. James. And on June 18, 1930 it was recorded with the Deputy Registrar General of Canada and became official. Please join our Chamber this year in celebrating its 90th anniversary. A community event is being planned for Thursday, June 18, 2020. Now known as the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce, we have had a few name changes over the years.
