The Tiger's Roar!
Tildenville Elementary School, Winter Garden, FL
"A National Magnet School of Distinction"
Thursday, February 13, 2020

It is amazing how quickly we have moved into 2020 already with Presidents' Day now coming up on Monday (school holiday). Please remember that when school resumes on Tuesday, that we will be having our monthly School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting at 4:00pm. All members of our school community are invited and encouraged to attend.

In our last issue I had mentioned that our 2020 parent survey is now out and online. The responses from the surveys are kept completely anonymous, but the combined findings are the basis for our school improvement planning. To make the survey useful, we need a 20% participation rate from our parents. Please, if this applies to your household, won't you take a couple of minutes to share your views? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Enjoy the rest of your week and Happy Valentine's Day!

Read Across America Day - Volunteers Needed!
Monday, March 2

Once again this year, we are looking for volunteers to come in and read to our students. If you are interested, sign up online and email your child's teacher ( teacher email addresses) to discuss a time during the day that will work best for the both of you.

DID YOU KNOW???
Read Across America Day, annually held on the first school day closest to March 2. This nationwide observance coincides with the birthday of Dr Seuss on March 2, who is known for writing children's books.

Theodor Seuss Geisel - Dr. Seuss of children's book fame (1904-91) - wrote and illustrated 45 children's books in his lifetime. Geisel's books were deceptively simple. His "Green Eggs and Ham" contains only 50 words, a challenge thrown to the author by his editor, Bennett Cerf.

Today, no children's author/illustrator's work is more immediately recognizable worldwide than that of Dr. Seuss. His most popular book, "Green Eggs and Ham," has sold 8 million copies since 1960!
