“We love because He first loved us.
-- 1 John 4:19
Dear friends,

Let us love one another, for love comes from God. The entire passage from 1 John 4:7-21 explains God’s eternal love for us and our ability to love one another because He lives in us and His love is made complete in us. God is LOVE and this love binds us together in Christ.

Do you remember the first time you visited campus? For so many of us, that visit was all we needed to enroll! We need your help to invite high school students to attend our Concordia Youth Gathering (CYG) Friday, April 22. High school youth will grow in their faith, worship the Lord, learn more about CUAA, and have fun! Keep scrolling for details, or head directly to the CYG registration page.

Update: Special thanks to Tim Hetzner (’76) who saw last month’s story about Dr. Oleg Ivanets and provided immediate assistance through Lutheran Church Charities to help evacuate Dr. Ivanets’s parents from Ukraine to a safe location in Poland. They are currently awaiting visas, and hope to be reunited soon. We continue to pray. Thank you, LORD, for Your gift of eternal LOVE!

God’s blessings,

CUAA to celebrate completion of OTDe and DPT
remodel with open house
April 27
A brand-new space for two brand-new programs! The North Building remodel is nearing completion, just in time for an open house to celebrate the makeover, as well as the launch of CUAA’s first-ever doctorate programs: the entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTDe) and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degrees. Workers tackled more than 7,300 square feet to create an intentionally and expertly designed shared space for future occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) students. To learn more, click here.

CUAA choir and band spring break music tour in Florida recap
The music department teamed up for tour last month, visiting St. Paul, Lakeland; Holy Cross, Lake Mary; St. Paul, Boca Raton; and St. Michael, Fort Myers. The mission of the tour was to share the Gospel through music, develop musical artistry and confidence through performing, and recruit prospective students. Music department students also enjoyed a day at Universal in Orlando. It was great fun meeting up with alumni and emeriti faculty along the way!

The importance of de-escalation on the sidelines
In his 35 years as a head athletic trainer at the D1 level, Tim Neal saw his fair share of poor performance on the sidelines. Emotions in the heat of the moment can quickly turn toxic, especially within the competitive arena. Neal is the former head athletic trainer for Syracuse University and currently serves as an instructor and department chair for CUAA’s athletic training program. Throughout his career, he has carved out a name for himself as a leader in the field, having served as a nationally recognized expert voice on matters pertaining to concussion assessment and emergency preparedness.
His expertise goes beyond just physical wellness. Neal helped develop a respected peer training program that focuses on compassionate care and helping athletes heal emotionally as well as physically. To read more, click here.

Do you know anyone who wants to be a pre-sem student at your alma mater? Now is the time to apply. CUAA offers a wide variety of substantial scholarships to pre-seminary students, including competitive full-tuition scholarships. Click here to read more.

Final Thought from
Campus Pastor Randy Duncan
Each morning during the school year, our campus pastor, Randy Duncan, sends out an email full of inspirational thoughts, concepts to ponder, scripture, and prayer requests. We thought we would share some of his thoughts with you each month for us to contemplate.

Final thought: Right now, you are tired. Rest assured, God is not.
