JAX Blood Drive &
Formal Goodbye to 3rd Street HQ
|

Due to an extremely positive response internally, JAX Refrigeration, Inc. hosted a blood drive for OneBlood on Thursday, September 10th, from 11:00am – 4:00pm. The iconic BIG RED BUS was parked in front of our former JAX Headquarters on 3rd Street for most of the afternoon!
Participants received a complimentary COVID Antibody screening.
The day's event was also a formal good-bye to our beloved JAX Refrigeration 3rd Street Office.
OneBlood has adjusted their procedures due to coronavirus. To better protect staff and donors, only four people were allowed in the bus at one time. As a result, it was mandatory for each donor sign up in advance. This allowed OneBlood to determine their staffing needs, length of drive, etc.
Blood donations are down significantly due to this pandemic, and the blood supply in our area is at critical levels. JAX Refrigeration has always been a force for good in our community. Our goal for this Blood Drive was to have at least 10 donors, which we proudly surpassed!

JAX President, Mark Lowery and wife, Samantha are Co-Chairing this year’s Dreams Come True 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run. As usual, JAX encouraged the entire JAX Family to participate and have continued to be on track for a record level of contribution and participation. JAX COO, Ryan Zafris and Vice President of Administration, Joy Bardin have gone above and beyond in their efforts to support this great event. Once again, JAX Refrigeration employees, family and friends will be tying our shoelaces and raising funds for the Dreams Come True VIRTUAL 5K Race. In an effort to provide a safe and convenient fundraising opportunity for all, this year's event will be held at your own pace. We are asking YOU to join us between NOW through October 18, 2020 to run, walk or roll 4 dreams.
Due to COVID-19, more than 60 dreams
have been placed on hold. We are expecting record breaking dream fulfillment numbers this fall.

Gary Rodriguez, Supply Chain Coordinator
Gary was born and raised in Austin, Texas and made the move to San Antonio 17 years ago. He has over 8 years of experience with Ammonia Refrigeration parts. He is currently engaged with plans to marry in April. He has five children, ranging from 22 to 33, and seven grandchildren. Gary's hobbies include country dancing and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle any chance he gets.

Originally from New Braunfels, TX, Cole has been in the industrial refrigeration business since 2007. He is happily married to Megan Preiss, going on 8 wonderful years. Cole and Megan have 2 children, Leliana (4 years old) and Kaylynn (6 months old).

Josh jumped into the Project Manager role for JAX Refrigeration in January of 2020. Since then, He has successfully managed a number of Design/Build Projects, several of which he acted as Lead Designer. Josh was nominated by his peers for continually going above and beyond, pitching in on Projects and the internal process sides. We are proud to have Josh as part of the JAX Refrigeration Family, and look forward to great things to come.

Jeff Harvison, Service Techician, JAX Refrigeration
Jeff began his career in Residential A/C and didn’t care for it much so he made the jump to Industrial. Jeff loves his craft and wouldn’t want to change, but finds Controls work interesting. In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, (2) dogs, hunting, fishing, shooting, sports and camping. He enjoys visiting the mountains in Tennessee and the Rockies.
A true family man, Jeff identifies home with anywhere the Airforce sends his daugther and grandson. If he could dine with anyone, alive or dead, he’d choose his Grandpa Harvison.
Jeff's favorite holiday is Christmas. His favorite movies are Tombstone and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and his dream car is a Porsche 911 GT3.
As far as sports go, Jeff enjoys watching the Scuderia Ferrari in Formula One racing.

We are proud to have commissioned a great Design/Build project in Rhode Island this month. Our Refrigeration Department is currently executing a sizable project in Georgia, including the installation of several new compressors, condensers, evaporators, high temp, medium temp, and low temp recirculating chillers, as well as an underfloor warming system.
JAX is always eager and ready to take on industrial refrigeration projects large and small, and has the capacity to handle multi-million dollar projects.

JAX Mechanical is continuing work on a large manufacturing facility installation (1st of 3 recently Awarded Projects with a valued GC Partner) for an American multinational technology company that focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. This Project is in Erlanger, Kentucky and utilizes both JAX Mechanical and Plumbing services. From start to finish, this multi-million dollar job took 8 weeks to complete.

2021 Expansion:
JAX Mechanical Service is growing! Baton Rouge, Louisiana, will be JAX our next new service area. This will allow us to link the entire I-10 corridor from Jacksonville, Florida to Texas. We have commitments from our current customer base who welcome our expansion. They will be able to utilize our expertise to service their current customer base. Our customers have made requests and we've done our best to listen and respond to their needs.
Texas ship yards:
We are currently working on a rollout to approach the shipyards from Galveston, TX to Tampa, FL. This approach would include servicing the equipment at the yards, as well as the dredges and some ships. Our team will be traveling to Galveston and along the coast to meet facility leaders of the yards face-to-face. Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS is a major ship builder in the Gulf, and remains at the top of companies to contact. We will be utilizing the same approach used for our clients Great Lakes Dredge and the North Florida Ship Yards. For over two years JAX Mechanical Service has been the Official HVAC/R service provider for both of these companies and we will enter the Gulf and Tampa markets with high recommendations from them.

JAX Cool is putting the finishing touches to a frost ribbon on the structural steel and deck to protect against condensation from a 48F Cooler to a 36F Cooler at a Natural Food Distribution Center in Indiana. The frost ribbon consists of 4” thick insulated metal panel placed over the foamed-in place metal deck and around all steel members that penetrate the cooler divider wall, insulating the steel from the hot to cold condition. This eliminates the opportunity for condensation to occur. The deck is 45’ above finished floor. 60’ boom lifts were utilized to access the area safely and efficiently. This project will be complete the end of September. |

Restaurant HVAC Specialty (RHVACS) centers its services on the supply and installation of heating, refrigeration, air conditioning systems and kitchen hood ventilation for restaurants. RHVACS provides economical turnkey designs, and when combined with the full range of industry-related services at JAX Refrigeration, offers comprehensive one-stop service solutions for your entire project.
Our Restaurant HVAC Specialty Team is wrapping up a Wendy’s Project in Snellville, GA. RHVACS started this project on 1/26/20, and this Wendy’s is expected to be turned over to Operations by the beginning of October. Covid delayed the completion of this Project, but our RHVACS Team was able to provide owners with a SAFE and Successful Project.

Advantage
JAX Ind is a turnkey engineering procurement and manufacturing department underneath the JAX Refrigeration umbrella and is focused on manufacturing new and existing skid solutions for the power, fuel and gas industries. JAX Ind operates at our 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and carries D1.1 and ASME Section IX welding qualifications.
All material and equipment is thoroughly inspected and inventoried upon receipt as it moves through our production/manufacturing facility. As we continue to move toward certification, JAX Ind still operates with inspection and test plans in line with ISO 9001. We perform full QA/QC and FAT prior to shipment to validate acceptance and final approval.
