BECOME A TEACHER
Tougaloo College graduates have the opportunity to obtain a Mississippi Teacher Educator License. The Mississippi Department of Education waived all testing requirements due to COVID-19 until December 31, 2021. That means enrolled students can obtain a Mississippi Teacher Educator License as long as they fulfill all course requirements by December 31, 2021 without passing any Mississippi required educator test like PRAXIS I or PRAXIS II. It only takes four additional classes to become a licensed Mississippi educator. This summer, the Division of Education, Supervision and Instruction is offering one of the four required classes. If you have questions or need additional information, contact Dr. Th ea H. Williams-Black, Dean, Division of Education, Supervision and Instruction, at 601-977-7757 or by email.
