AUMA is pleased to announce our new Board of Directors and Executive Committee for 2020/21. The AUMA Board comprises representatives from Alberta’s cities, towns, villages, summer villages, and specialized municipalities.

Following the federal government’s announcement of a dedicated funding stream for COVID-19 resiliency under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP), Alberta Infrastructure has shared with AUMA that all funds currently allocated to Alberta through this program will be distributed shortly.
AUMA and RMA have made further updates to the ICF Workbook to recognize the adjustment of the deadline to April 1, 2021 and to provide tips and tools on how to address outstanding areas of dispute when finalizing an ICF.

It is important to be aware that there are potential risks that arise when a party agrees in a contract that any disputes must be resolved through arbitration.

Alberta Justice and Solicitor General has launched consultations on programs to assist Victims of Crime. A survey has been released to gather input from stakeholders that will be used to inform the development of the permanent Victims Assistance Program, which will replace the interim program in 2021. The survey will be open until October 9.
