Dining out and entertainment. Enjoy indoor and outdoor meals, drinks and entertainment with friends and family.

Manitoba Vaccination Lottery

As part of broader efforts to encourage vaccination, Manitoba is launching a new lottery that will award nearly $2 million in cash and scholarships to individuals who receive their COVID-19 vaccine.

All Manitobans aged 12 and up who have received at least one dose of vaccine by August 2 will be eligible for the first draw. All Manitobans aged 12 and up who have received two doses by September 6 will be eligible for the second draw.

Anyone who has been immunized by these deadlines will automatically be entered.

Manitoba Bridge Grant Now Open to New Applications Until July 16, 2021

The provincial government is reopening the Manitoba Bridge Grant program with an estimated $5 million in support for seasonal businesses and new applicants affected by the current public health orders.

Businesses that did not previously apply to the Bridge Grant Program before the March 31 program deadline can now apply. Eligible storefront businesses will receive $5,000 and home-based businesses will receive up to $5,000 based on 10 per cent of their gross revenue, depending on when they started operating.

City Awards Renovation Grants to 23 Community Centres

Twenty-three City-owned community centres will receive funding for renovations through the City of Winnipeg's Community Centre Renovation Grant Program (CCRGP).

"As more and more Winnipeggers become vaccinated, there is renewed hope on the horizon that community centres will, once again, be fully utilized like they were before the pandemic began," said Mayor Brian Bowman. "The Community Centre Renovation Grant program helps ensure these spaces can get the repairs and upgrades to maintain their importance to the residents in neighbourhoods across our city."

Province Adopts Airport Vincinity Protection Area Regulation

The Manitoba government has released a draft Airport Vicinity Protection Area Regulation for a 45-day public consultation period, Municipal Relations Minister Derek Johnson announced today.

“This is the next important and long-overdue step forward for Manitoba’s largest airport and the area surrounding it,” said Johnson. “Current land-use policies have not been updated in a quarter of a century and are based on outdated forecasts of aircraft noise.”

The proposed regulation is based on up-to-date scientific data on noise in the vicinity of the airport, which is crucial to help guide decisions on the type and scale of development that can occur safely, while fostering the airport’s continued growth and ensuring the city develops in an orderly fashion.
