Leah Plocharczyk, interim director of Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Library, in Jupiter, Florida, is a winner of this year's I Love My Librarian Award. Recognized for her leadership in her community and commitment to transforming lives, she is one of only ten librarians in the country to receive this national honor. “Librarianship pushes us to connect with us and find commonalities. The FAU Brain Institute's Community Education Team will host, "Brain Blitz Jupiter – Exercise Your Mind," a hands-on brain education program for young people and adults at the Jupiter Jubilee. The well attended public event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Abacoa Community Park. The booth will feature demonstration tables with healthy brain activities where children and adults can interact with, learn from, and take home mental and physical activities that promote life-long healthy brain behaviors.
