Health & Wellness
FC Richmond is excited to announce our partnership with Michael Cerreto, a Cognitive Performance Therapist and the founder of A Talented Mind Clinic. He is a Certified Mental Health Service Provider in Sports Psychology Counseling (CSC). Mr. Cerreto specializes in cognitive therapy to strengthen the mental abilities of highly talented performers in sports, arts, and military. We will work with him to provide sports psychology clinics for athletes and parents about elevating mental performance in practice and competition, as well as dealing with the many challenges teens face in today’s society. Our Junior Board members will collaborate with Mr. Cerreto to determine topics of interest for players and families. Each month, one topic will be featured in our "Give & Go Newsletter" in the Health & Wellness section. We are grateful to have Mr. Cerreto as a valuable resource for the FCR community! Find our more about Mr. Cerreto and his clinic HERE .
Welcome to our New FC Richmond Junior Board
We are excited to announce our 2019-20 FC Richmond Junior Board! Welcome to our new members Abbey Horvath, Dylan Overstreet, Jake Bennett, Libby Friedman, Nate Broughton and Ryan Corsa. Welcome back to former members Bella Graber, Dylan Johnson, Quinn Pikunas, Rebecca Finch, Zach Overstreet and Zoe Long! The mission of the Junior Board is to help athletes go “Beyond the Game” and reach their full potential off the field. Junior Board members will serve as FC Richmond ambassadors who will develop leadership skills while engaging FCR families and players in making a difference in their community. We look forward to all of the great work they'll do this year!
Alumni Corner
Former FC Richmond player Kevin Coleman signed with Orange County Soccer Club. Coleman, 21, joins the club following a 3-year spell in Germany. The dynamic winger spent 2 years with  F.C. Kaiserslautern  in their U-19s, before moving to  SpVgg Bayreuth  of the Regionalliga league. Prior to his move to Germany, he was selected for the U.S. U-17 National Team Residency Program in Bradenton, FL, playing alongside Christian Pulisic.
"I am very excited and grateful to have signed a professional contract with Orange County Soccer Club,” said Coleman. “I want to thank God, my family, friends, and coaches for their support through this journey. I would also like to thank Orange County for this great opportunity. I am excited for the season and can’t wait to get started!”
"Beyond the Game" Players of the Month
Two of our own players at FC Richmond, Kate Morris and Sophie Azula, are working to combat the issue of digital divide at James River High School. The girls are introducing 10 Wifi hotspots into the school library, available to checkout, to benefit students who do not have the Internet as a readily available resource within their own homes. To see this change for their school, Kate and Sophie need your help! To fundraise for the implementation of these new devices, they will be holding an Auction Night in the James River H.S. Library on November 7th from 6:00-8:00pm. At this event, attendees will be given the opportunity to bid on baskets of goods donated by local businesses. Complimentary dinner and music will be provided for guests as well. The girls would love to have you attend their event, and everyone is welcome!
