BHA Principal's Update
Assalamu Alaikum Dear BHA families,

Alhumdulillah, we had a successful week as we awarded our Quran and Islamic Studies contest winners, and welcomed our National Juniors Honors Society, National Honors Society and California Scholarship Federation students. It was a pleasure seeing all of the students and their families at our Zoom ceremony on Wednesday and the drive-thru held at our AG campus this past Friday. A big shout out to all the amazing students who helped organize the events on Friday and parents for their help. I also want to thank the wonderful teachers and our outstanding admin team for their tireless efforts and dedication. May Allah bless them all and their families.
We have a short, two day week this week. As we head into our Fall Break (Nov. 25-27th), we pray that Allah blesses you all with health and happiness as you spend time together with your family. Please be mindful of the directives set by the county and take the proper safety measures for the sake of yourselves and those around you. We look forward to welcoming back both our Virtual and In-person learners on Monday, November 30th Insha'Allah.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan,

Travel over School Breaks

California is currently under a travel advisory. If your family is considering travel or planning a trip at this time, please review this important information from the CDC. We appreciate your support and diligence in helping us reduce exposure to students and staff.
RECIPE SWAP
Let's come together during the upcoming breaks and share our favorite recipes with our BHA friends! Send a video or a simple infographic and we will post for others to try! Virtual sharing is caring!
A Note From The Teacher
A Message to 11th Grade U.S. History Class:

"I want to thank you all for participating in our virtual field trip/class visit from San Diego Superior Court Judge Camarena. Mashallah, you all made sure to log in early and were prepared and polite. I was thoroughly impressed with your analysis of the court case as well as how the 4th Amendment was applied to the case. A special shout out to Tasneem for thanking the Judge very generously at the end of class! Great job everyone!"

Ms. Edesta invites her Hybrid and Virtual students to a glimpse of possible careers from our own BHA parents, Masha'Allah! This month they are visiting the dentist office and meeting a nurse (virtually). Stay tuned for more exciting news from "Our Community".
The California Scholarship Federation (known as CSF) is a state-wide academic honors organization whose purpose is to recognize students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and character.

The California Scholarship Federation (CSF), Inc. provides scholarship benefits to qualified California High School Students towards a Life Membership or Sealbearer award. Once the qualified high school student graduates and achieves this life membership, they become eligible for a variety of tuition scholarships available at universities across the state and in select colleges nationwide.

Bright Horizon Academy would like to thank all CSF volunteers for their tireless efforts in helping our Staff make our Friday drive thru event a success! May Allah reward you and make you successful in all of your future endeavors, ameen. You are the future of our community. Keep up the good work!
November Character trait: Empathy
This month Bright Horizon Academy will be learning about EMPATHY, inshaAllah.

Each month we focus on a character trait by exploring what it means, why it’s important and how we can incorporate these traits every day.

We have attached our Character Education newsletter with some ways that you can help your child continue to learn about empathy.
