Education Initiative
Discover Ocean County Library: An Education Initiative  is an ongoing partnership between OCL and our schools. Our goal is to put a library card in the hand of every student and to better serve the curriculum needs of educators, students, and their families. Our librarians can provide professional development hours for educators. We can also visit classrooms to promote reading and demonstrate online resources for research and enrichment. Buried Alive With the Will to Survive – From Devastation to Inspiration

Buried beneath the rubble of the South Tower, Joe Torrillo wondered what life could be if given just one more day. Miraculously found alive, Joe was buried again under the debris of the second collapse minutes after being rescued. Retired FDNY Lieutenant Joe Torrillo will share his inspiring story and his lessons on how to manage fear under the most horrible situations.
