Greetings from your new Young Adult Librarian! My name is Erica, and I will be overseeing teen programming and the teen collection, as well as working with the Youth Services Supervisor, Kelsey, to get the Makerspace underway. I will also be joining the team of amazing reference librarians. I look forward to serving Marshfield residents and helping them discover books, movies, information, and technology.

I also look forward to helping the library grow and supporting its mission to build community. I have experience working in libraries in New York, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin. I have also held various positions in the outdoor industry, including lifeguard, camp counselor, ropes course facilitator, and rock climbing instructor. Now, I am excited to serve the beach town of Marshfield. (I fell in love with the ocean when I lived on a ship and sailed around the Atlantic for three months in college.) I look forward to meeting you all, and I invite you to stop by the Teen Room or the Reference Desk to say hello. 
Mass Memories Roadshow: Marshfield
Join us on Monday, September 30, 2019, 7-8:30 p.m. for a photo/video screening and history-sharing gathering for all. Come see your Marshfield history unfold on the big screen with photos and videos contributed to the Mass Memories Roadshow in October 2017! This is the real history of Marshfield told in personal stories by those who live here! See vintage photos of Marshfield neighborhoods and reminisce with the participants. Bring your own stories to share while munching popcorn and sipping lemonade. Don't miss this heart-warming event! Free; no tickets required. Visit: Mass. Memories Road Show.
Children's Updates
We had some VIP guests at the library last Thursday night! Check out the wacky adventures from our Stuffed Animal Sleepover - Click Here! We have several exciting kid's events coming up, so be sure to check out our Event Calendar - Click Here! This week we have LEGO Club (Monday) and a special magic show (Thursday) in addition to our regularly scheduled storytimes.
Hotspot Rentals
Ventress Memorial Library circulates more than just books, DVDs and music, we circulate WIFI! We currently have 14 Hotspots. A portable hotspot taps into a 3G and/or 4G cellular network, just like a smartphone does. Once it's zeroed in on cellular data connection, a mobile hotspot can share that connection via Wi-Fi with nearby laptops, tablets, game consoles, or anything that can connect to a Wi-Fi network. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or come check one out for yourself today!
Gentle Floor Yoga Classes
Ventress Memorial Library will be hosting a “Gentle Floor Yoga Class Series” this fall featuring experienced yoga instructor Linda Evans. Linda has taught yoga classes at local studios and the Council on Aging in Marshfield the past 10 years.

The gentle floor yoga classes will be offered for six sessions on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. starting October 9 th through November 13 th in the Library Plaza Recreation Room. We would like to offer a special thanks to the Recreation Department for the use of the room. Admission is free and registration is encouraged but not required. All levels of yoga students are welcome. Opportunities Lifelong Learning
Opportunities Lifelong Learning Fall Class Registration begins on Sept. 16 and is ongoing until classes are full. Mark you calendar for the September 23rd class "Birds of Costa Rica" to be held at the Ventress Library from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Click Here to see information on all the classes offered.
