Orange Shirt Day: September 27th

UBCM is pleased to once again recognize Orange Shirt Day at this year's Convention. Delegates are encouraged to wear orange on Friday, September 27 for  Orange Shirt Day  - an annual day of recognition of the harm the residential school system did to children's sense of self-esteem and well-being. Wearing an orange shirt is a way to honour the survivors and remember those that did not survive. Orange T-shirts are available for purchase by donation during Convention at the Business Centre provided by Lidstone & Company Law Corporation. All donations collected will be given to an Indigenous charity.

Convention Code of Conduct

All UBCM Convention attendees are asked to read, understand and agree to comply with the Code of Conduct by signing off on the Agreement and Acknowledgment Form and returning it to UBCM at codeofconduct@ubcm.ca.

At the 2016 Convention, delegates endorsed resolution B103 asking UBCM to implement a convention code of conduct. Extensive work has been undertaken and we are pleased to advise that UBCM has a formal Convention Code of Conduct in place for the 2019 Convention.
