2017 Needs Assessment Survey Closes next Friday

The 2017 OSCC Needs Assessment Survey was sent out last month. This survey will provide valuable feedback to make sure OSCC is meeting the needs of Chambers across the state.

To date, only half of OSCC members have responded to the survey. Please take a few minutes to share your feedback. Your input will help ensure that OSCC continues to provide the programs and services that bring value to your Chamber.

Please respond by this Friday, July 7th. Take survey
OSCC Seeks Outstanding Workforce Development Programs

Does your Chamber have a Workforce Development program? We are hearing from Chambers across the state that workforce development is one of the top priorities of their member businesses. OSCC is looking for outstanding Chamber Workforce Development programs to feature on our website as a resource and an inspiration to Chambers exploring ways to meet their members' workforce needs. If you have a program you would share with other OSCC members, please email Jessica Chambers.
Now Accepting 2018 Annual Conference Proposals

Earlier this month, OSCC sent out the RFP for the 2018 Annual Conference. This is the once-yearly gathering of Oregon's Chamber industry for professional development and peer to peer interaction. Proposals must be done in collaboration between the local Chamber and prospective conference venues, and should submitted in writing by July 12, 2017, attention Alison Hart. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Alison Hart.
Board Votes to Support Brighter Oregon

As a part of the Legislative Priorities, the OSCC Board of Directors voted to support the efforts of Brighter Oregon, the Oregon Business Plan Coalition.

Brighter Oregon, the Oregon Business Plan Coalition, seeks not only to balance the upcoming two-year budget, but also to put the state on a sustainable fiscal path moving forward so that investments can be made that will positively impact the economy and lives of Oregonians. The proposed approach will result in more revenue to invest in education, ensure healthcare access and grow jobs and incomes. It is based on shared responsibility: business must agree to new taxes and public employee representatives must agree to adjusting personnel costs that have hindered our ability to adequately fund key services. They believe it is possible to make that happen while still ensuring competitive compensation, including benefits, that attracts and retains talented public workers. You can learn more here.

OSCC will be sending out information from Brighter Oregon in the weeks to come.
