One of our recent calls was from a mother who adopted a sibling group from foster care. The family opened their hearts and home to 2 boys and a girl when they were 1, 2, and 4 years old. These sweet children experienced horrific physical and sexual abuse before being removed from the only home they knew. The only love they knew was that of violence. Over the years in their new adoptive home they have received true love, safety and stability but are still suffering from the lingering effects of early trauma.
Now the children are nearing their teen years and have been exhibiting inappropriate physical aggression and sexual behaviors to each other as well as those around them. This family is desperate to help the children heal; to have the life they deserve. To do this one child will need to temporarily be removed from the home to enter a therapeutic treatment facility.
Adoptive Families Coalition are coming alongside this family with emotional and financial support to help make healing a reality. Because of our generous donors, YOU, we have been able to be a lifeline to this family as well other families in similar crisis. As always, 100% of every donation will go directly to the care and treatment of traumatized children and their families.
