New Adoptees at the Rabbit Haven
On Nov 20, we took in 11 bunnies from Seabeck.
Red is very gentle, loves pets, and is surprisingly calm given his background.
Quincy, white with red spots, is curious but a little shy.

The Seabeck 11
Recently, Rabbit Haven was asked to help rescue 11 buns from
Seabeck, WA. They were breeding stock buns for a meat farm that was closing down. They were going to be sold as meat rabbits.
Their lives are changing big time. Next week, they will have their spay and neutering surgeries. Thank you Dr. Ivy!
We hope to get 6 of these buns into foster homes, and that eventually they will be adopted as house rabbits.
We know at least 3 will never be able to live with human contact. They will join the rest of our outdoor warren colony. They will have minimum human interference and will have happy bunny lives.
|
Last week, Sue and her team received the 11 and have been taking great care of them since. It's a lot of work, with too few hands to help.
|
If you are interested in supporting the Seabeck 11, please send a message to dori.rabbithavenvolunteer@gmail.com. We can use foster parents, special treats, and toys. We can also use help
cleaning their enclosures and feeding them.

The Gemini Fund
is only made possible by our generous donors.
Two of our recent success stories are Dennis Hopper and Lily:
Dennis Hopper wa
s able to go home yesterday. He had a tumor that was removed by Dr. Beth. He spent a little over a week in Sue's sick bunny ward. He is on the mend and will have a great life!
|
Lily was found in the woods and turned into Rabbit Haven with a necrotic ear. Despite fears that she may lose the whole ear, about 80% was saved. She is still a bit skittish but is always ready for meal times.
|
Many rabbits come to us with medical needs. We partner with local veterinarians and help care for and nurse the rabbits back to health.
The Gemini Fund allows us to help more of these fragile rabbits.

Our 2017 Harbor Hop - Silent and Live Auction - was a huge success!
With 72 attendees, your generous donations helped us raise over $10,000 to care for our wonderful bunny residents! That is $4,000 more than last year. All the money raised by this event go
directly to support our bunnies' housing, feed, and medical needs.
Save the date: Oct 6, 2018, for our next Harbor Hop. See you there!
