SBA WEEKLY UPDATES:
November 27, 2017
Food Drive
SBA is sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Holy Redeemer Food Pantry.  The drive will run from November 20 to December 5.  Students are asked to bring canned goods and boxed items, such as cereal and pasta, to their religion classes.

Sophomore Retreat
Sophomore retreat is Tuesday, December 5 at the Spirituality Center.  Sophomores will report to school as normal with a packed lunch and in uniform.  Further instructions will be sent home.

St. Nicholas Day Divine Liturgy - December 6
We will be celebrating the tradition of our St. Nicholas Day Divine Liturgy on Wednesday, December 6 at 8:00 AM in the auditorium. Please join us in this celebration! 
Kairos Leader Applications
Kairos Leader Applications are due to Miss Violi by Monday, December 11.

Counseling & College Services
Seniors:
As you receive your college acceptances, please bring in your letters of acceptance and any merit/scholarship awards to the Counseling office.  As a reminder, each Senior is allotted 8 transcripts. There is a $5.00 fee for each additional transcript.

If any colleges are requesting your first quarter grades, please come to Counseling and sign up. 

Senior Advisory will resume on November 27, 28 and 29.  We will be covering questions regarding the FAFSA.  Please remember to report to advisory at the beginning of lunch.

The Broadway Musical Hairspray
Auditions are open to ALL Students.   We need you to make this happen!
Cast and Crew will receive .25 Arts Credit.

Audition Dates:
Tuesday, December 12 @ 3:15 pm
Thursday, December 14 @ 3:15 pm

See  Ms. Violi or Mrs. Dillinger for more information.  Sign-up sheets are on the Drama Board. We are l ooking for a few good men to play various roles.  

Dance audition practice is scheduled for Tuesday, December 14 from 3-4:30 pm. These are not mandatory.   See song rehearsal sheet on Drama Board for vocal practices.

Night of the Races.

10 Week Club
It is not too late to return your 10 week club tickets.  Your tickets are good for all ten weeks of the drawing. View the list of winners here.

Volunteering
Please return the yellow volunteer forms that were handed out at Back to School night.
The volunteer form is also available on the SBA website.  We are asking that each family volunteer for at least 2 events this year.  A list of activities is on our webpage. There are student related events, Parents' Club events and Development  events. We have amazing people in place in Admissions, Development and Leadership.  Let's give them all the help we can.

New York City Bus Trip, Friday, December 8th
We have only 10 seats left on our Luxury coach for $35.    Sit back, relax and let someone else do the driving! 
* Please remember to download the waiver forms and send them back to school.
 You will not be able to ride the bus without those waiver forms.

8:00 am: Departure from SBA / 8:30 pm: Return to SBA.
Cost: $35 per person (bus only).  Show Tickets: $60 per person.


Victorian Tea for Seniors 
Attention Senior Parents: The Victorian Tea for Seniors is Friday, December 15th.
This event will be run by Senior Parents.  Your class reps will be in touch.

Stop by our school store and start your Christmas shopping! We have many items to choose from and every Basil Girl loves to get Basil Gear as a gift. Here are a few ideas:  Sweatpants, Hoodies, SBA drawstring bag, NEW ΒΌ Zip Grey Sweatshirt, SBA crew socks, SBA saddle shoe ornament (my personal favorite), SBA Pennant, T-shirts, Pajama bottoms, shorts and more!! We will be open additional hours on Wednesday night 5-7 PM. Some items are available online, but we have much more to see in the store!
