OHIO'S BUREAU OF WORKERS COMP - OTHER STATES COVERAGE 

The CIB is offering a course on December 20, 2017 discussing Ohio's BWC Other State Coverage. Ohio worker compensation must be written through the Bureau of Workers Compensation. When a company's employees leave the state of Ohio in the course of their work, are they are covered? This course will discuss what is covered, excluded and how coverage can be obtained. A Great Divide Among Courts -"Other Insurance" Clauses
   
  One of the more difficult issues in insurance law is interpreting "other insurance" clauses, which apply when two or more policies cover a single loss. The insurer-on-insurer fight traditionally centers around whether the policies share with one another or whether one is excess. The issues get even more complex when a primary policy and an umbrella policy are involved.   Read more 

GENERATIONAL ETHICS  

A unique ethics course taught by Lyle Rupp called Generatinal Ethics is being offered on December 5, 2017. Psychological and Ethical differences between generations is not a new concept. You've likely heard frustrations of communicating between generations in your own family, place of work, church or other places where generations come together. Phrases such as "What is wrong with them? What are they thinking? Why do I have to teach them every single step? Why does it take them so long?" seem to be uttered frequently. The workplace is one where these differences are most evident. This course will examine each of the generations, including their common values, similarities and differences, from an ethical perspective.  Read more
 
INSURANCE FRAUD

Insurance industry estimates generally put fraud at about 10 percent of the property/casualty insurance industry's incurred losses and loss adjustment expenses each year, although the figure can fluctuate based on line of business, economic conditions and other factors. Using this measure, over the five-year period from 2011 to 2015, property/casualty fraud amounted to about $34 billion each year.   Read more
