FROM THE PTSA
Your Shopping and Dining Experiences Can Help the ICS PTSA!
There are different ways you can support our school and help to raise money for ICS. Please consider the following ways to easily help support ICS:
  • Box Tops: Parents and students can collect BoxTops for Education found on many packaged foods, like cereal boxes, or household items, like tissue boxes, etc. Bring the collected BoxTops to the PTSA room, and you will find a designated collection box on the counter. Two or three times a year collected BoxTops are sent out for deposit on ICS account.
  • Bartell Drugs eScrip Program: With every purchase a parent makes at Bartell Drugs, ICS receives a percentage of this money towards our ICS PTSA funds. Simply register at the store, mention the eScrip Program for ICS at the register, and let the cashier know that you would like to sing up for eScrip program. Then use the member card any time when you shop at Bartell Drugs.
  • Everything Party: We also have an eScrip Program with Everything Party, the party store in Redmond and Renton. When parents purchase things at the store and mention ICS to the cashier, the store will donate 10 percent of the purchase price to ICS. Check out the following link to find a store location.
  • Red Robin: Red Robin will donate 1% of your final bill back to ICS. All you need is have a Red Robin loyalty card (which you can sign up for from the following link or you can join at the restaurant) and be sure to select "International Community School" as your school. From there, simply eat at Red Robin and automatically donate to ICS!

VOLUNTEERING
Art Day Volunteers Needed (Monday, January 29, 2018)
The annual ICS Art Day is one of the most highly anticipated student events of the year. It is an amazing day full of opportunities for your students to learn new arts and new skills. Each year we put together an amazing agenda of arts classes for our students.

But for this event to run smoothly, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Some of the student's favorite classes are at risk of being cancelled if we cannot find more volunteers! Please consider helping this year for the following Art Day volunteer opportunities:
  • Chocolate Delights: This class is an all-time favorite for our students! Please help if you have any experience at all in chocolate making or if you are willing to learn and help! This position includes planning the class, purchasing materials, and teaching students to create wonderful truffles and other chocolate masterpieces.
  • Indian Cooking: If you have any experience at all with Indian cuisine, please consider assisting with the class this year. This class needs a dedicated volunteer to help with planning, purchasing and preparing ingredients, and teaching our students to create simple, delicious traditional Indian foods.
  • Seniors Only Art Day Museum Trip: As a special treat for our Seniors, we are offering for an off-campus field trip for them to visit the Bellevue Arts museum, learn about the art exhibits and create a work of art while there. Again, this can only happen if we get enough volunteers! This trip will need both on-site chaperones as well as possible drivers.
If you are interested in helping with this year's Art Day, please email Meredith Cain immediately! Art Day is one of the best ways to get many of your volunteer hours covered for the year. Don't miss this opportunity! Thank you!
