Volunteer Reminders for the Holiday Season

Holiday season is in full swing and we hope you're enjoying this festive time of year!
Please remember that we're closed on Monday, December 25.

Also, thank you to everyone who has come shopping at Santa's Shop! The turnout has been really great so far this year. If you haven't shopped yet for your CASA kids, be sure to come in! The shop is open next week on the 18th and 19th from 8 AM to 4 PM, on the 20th from 8 AM to 11 AM, on the 21st from 8 AM to 4 PM, and on the 22nd from 8 AM to 11 AM.

No need to schedule a time to shop. Just come during shop hours and you may take 1 outfit, 1 toy/game, 1 stuffed animal, 1 book, and 1 pair of pajamas per child.  As a reminder, the gifts are to be given to the child's caregiver and they will give them to the kids - the kids are NOT to receive presents from their CASA. We hope to see all of you there!
Thank you to all of our amazing CASA volunteers!

It was great to see so many of you at our Volunteer Appreciation Event on December 2. We hope you enjoyed having breakfast with one another and going on the new building scavenger hunt! For those of you who weren't able to make it -  please watch these two videos below to hear just how much your hard work and dedication is appreciated!

January 9: Human Trafficking Awareness Training

This training will be presented by Detective Elli Reid who has worked in the Human Trafficking Unit for the Colorado Springs Police Department since 2014. With over 100 hours of training under her belt, Detective Reid enjoys educating the community and law enforcement on this topic. She'll present an overview of human trafficking in our community, as well as a case study. The training will take place from 5:30 - 7:30 PM on Tuesday, January 9 and snacks will be provided. The event is capped at 40 people, so please RSVP by Friday, January 5 to Samantha Hanson at [email protected].

Hanger Happenings

The Hanger will be open tomorrow, Dec. 16 but will then be closed on Dec. 23 and Dec. 30 for the Holidays. So if you have a teen that hasn't received a gift card or stocking yet - make sure they come shopping this weekend! We have limited supplies of each.
Upcoming Hanger Events for teens include tutoring, life skills classes, and college prep. Click here for more information.
New sculpture at CASA inspires gratitude and reflection

CASA of the Pikes Peak Region was absolutely thrilled and honored last week when Circle of Impact member Kat Jorstad dedicated a beautiful sculpture, created by the late Bill Burgess as a tribute to CASA's Circle of Impact. Kat was instrumental in implementing the Circle of Impact, a group of women committed to fundraising for CASA of the Pikes Peak Region. The sculpture was designed to inspire gratitude and reflection. And it already is. Drop by our office to check out the sculpture for yourself.

Two ways to support CASA during the holidays

Did you know that every purchase you make on Amazon can support CASA of the Pikes Peak Region? All you have to do is use AmazonSmile. It's easy. Go to smile.amazon.com and log in with your usual Amazon login information. Under "Your Account," select "Change your Charity" and in the search bar you can type "CASA of the Pikes Peak Region." Click select and you're done! When you go shopping in the future, just start from smile.amazon.com and your purchase will benefit foster kids in Southern Colorado!

We need 20 people who love Facebook AND Milton Foster Children's Fund to help us spread the word about the Indy Give! campaign, which supports MFCF, by messaging 10 friends about an online Facebook event. Contact Jill C. at [email protected] by Dec. 21st for more details!
