Randalls Donation
On Wednesday, November 15, Randalls re-opened its Kingwood location, after Hurricane Harvey flood waters damaged the store. As part of the celebration, Randalls made a donation to Humble ISD Education Foundation to assist with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

Happy Holidays from Humble ISD Foundation
This time of the year always seems to bring an extra sense of hope. . . kids hope they get what they want from Santa Claus, families hope to spend time with loved ones, and we all look to the new year with hope.

When I reflect back on 2017, our community had its share of challenges and blessings, but in talking with families still recovering from Harvey, I have heard over and over how the generosity of our community is a beacon of hope for so many.

So my wish for you is that this season fills your home with joy, your heart with love, you life with laughter and Ho Ho Hope!

Using Percussion to Teach Character Education
Thanks to a Foundation grant, students at Park Lakes Elementary are utilizing a character education program that teaches them a variety of percussion instruments, primarily drums. They are  learning the basics of drumming and then progress to more advanced rhythms and pieces.  As students are learning these, they are taught real world skills like listening, team building, and the primary character tenets of "Discipline, Respect, and Unity through Music." Check out the story below.

Employee Campaign

As we come to the close of 2017, we are once again reminded of the amazing team we have at Humble ISD.  Humble ISD employees are generous givers of time, talent and resources. This year's Foundation Employee Campaign "One Team, One Dream" is another testament to the desire that Humble ISD employees have to make dreams come true for children. More than 3,100 Humble ISD employees pledged $329,500 in support of the Humble ISD Education Foundation this year!  A huge thank you goes out to every donor for making this year's campaign a huge success.  To read more about the Foundation Employee Campaign, please click here.

Board of the Month
We are proud to present our Foundation board member of the month, Lisa Doughty.  She has been an incredible asset to our organization and has gone above and beyond her duties as a board member. We are so humbled to have her on our team.

"I began volunteering with the  Humble ISD Education Foundation in 2002 and fifteen years later, I'm  more committed than ever. The Foundation is special in so many ways. It not only impacts the lives of the children in the school district; it impacts the community as a whole. Most recently thousands of families, including me, experienced the personal loss of their homes and personal effects due to Hurricane Harvey. The Foundation jumped right in and began helping to raise funds as well as distribute resources across the District. I'm honored to work and volunteer alongside the "Best of the Best."
